Tomorrow is the day of the meeting with HR, the headteacher, my union rep, hopefully Mr RR for some moral support and, lastly but by no means least, me. It’s to thrash out the details of my phased return, amended duties and equipment that I will need in the classroom. I’m running the whole gamut of emotion today – at times I’m excited, at others petrified but at no time does ambivalence enter the equation.
I have two letters: one from the Psychologist, the other from the Pain Management Clinic to support my request for an extended return so that is covered. It’s been a year since I last saw my colleagues and I’m planning to see them tomorrow. If anyone needs me between now and then, I’ll be the one swinging wildly between cowering in the corner and yelping with excitement. Oh to be one of those people who are emotionally balanced!
